Carts to Careers (CTC) is a multi-pronged approach to expanding the food industry’s workforce. The Minnesota Grocers Association Foundation, along with the State of Minnesota, provides tuition support for classes completed for the specific purpose of furthering employees’ current career or providing educational opportunities for a new career in the food industry of Minnesota.

- Builds confidence and significantly increases level of engagement
- Prepares Minnesotans to take on leadership roles within the industry
Strengthens workforce for a viable food industry in the state of Minnesota
Carts to Careers funding may be used for any education or training as it relates to the food industry. Examples include:
- Non-college-credit leadership/management training
- Accounting certification programs
- Baking/Pastry certificates
- CDL licensing
- Meat cutting training
- And more…

CTC Retail Management Certificate
One great program that the Carts to Careers initiative supports is the Retailer Management Certificate (RMC), which is run by Alexandria Technical & Community College. It is an online, nationally recognized, industry-endorsed, 8-course education certificate. The RMC is an accredited business education program and most participants complete in two years or less. The program is designed to meet the educational requirements of the food industry and provide valuable skills in all area of business.
