BE FOOD SAFE

The Minnesota Grocers Association is proud to collaborate with the United States Department of Agriculture and the Partnership for Food Safety Education to remind you to Be Food Safe!

Be Food Safe encourages consumers to be aware of food safety risks and apply safe food handling techniques by remembering these simple steps: Clean, Separate, Cook, and Chill.

By cleaning your hands, utensils and cutting boards after working with raw meat or eggs, you prevent uncooked foods from becoming contaminated. Separating your meat and poultry from foods that won’t be cooked will also help keep you healthy. Using a food thermometer to ensure you have cooked your food to the proper temperature is also important. Finally, be sure to chill leftovers or take out food within two hours, and keep you refrigerator under 40 degrees F. Following these steps will help your household Be Food Safe!
