Breanne Haapala, employee of Lunds in Navarre, won the Minnesota Grocers Association 2007 Best Bagger Contest Saturday, August 25, 2007 at the Mall of America.

Haapala competed against 13 other baggers from across Minnesota.
She has worked at Lunds-Navarre for 10 months.

The 14 contestants who participated were judged on speed, style, attitude, proper bag building technique, number of bags used and weight distribution between the bags.

As the winner, Haapala will go on to represent the state of Minnesota and compete in the 2008 National Best Bagger contest at the National Grocers Association Convention, February 6, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was also awarded a trophy and $500.

Second place in the competition was Sam Tift of Byerly’s in St. Louis Park and third place was Jill Erickson of Chris’ Food Center in Sandstone.
